Rural Communities Rising is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to uniting the people of rural communities in Western Fresno County. As new massive clean energy development plans unfold, we must ensure that impacted and historically underserved communities are at the forefront of shaping these plans and our shared futures. Together, we will elevate our voices, advocate for health, well-being and economic benefits, and work for a brighter future for generations to come.
To connect residents in rural, Western Fresno County in order to organize, build community power, and secure the health, well-being and economic benefits our communities deserve.
We are working to connect 36 rural communities across Western Fresno County who will be most impacted by clean energy development. Our region includes unincorporated communities and small cities – all recognized by the state and county as disadvantaged communities. This work encourages rural residents to develop a powerful voice in shaping the future. We facilitate grassroots community engagement, leadership and organizational development in order for rural residents to reach true community ownership.
